The carribean plate which Haiti is on and the North American plate slipped past each other, in the east-west movement.

The Straits Times, 15th Jan 2009

What made this natural disaster tragic was the poverty and social problem the island faced.
Little medical help could be rendered because the hospitals, too, collapsed.
Even the President's palace collapsed.

Hi all, Sabrina and I went to make the class tee today, and here are the prices:

$18 (with coloured jigglypuff)

$12 (Without coloured jigglypuff, which will be outlined instead)

I tried bargaining with the supplier, but he couldn't lower it any further + we've paid the deposit already. I hope you guys understand. :)

Our class tee will be pale yellow in colour, and the supplier said that the musical notes cannot be printed for colour otherwise it'd be too complicated. But without colour, the musical notes will be printed (though only reduced to half of the original size).

Will carry out a vote on Monday, please think about which one you'd prefer (with colour or without) ok! :D Thanks.

Btw, this is the front of the class tee, which y'all voted. The back of the class tee is in the post below. :D

Our class tee has been put to stop for long, many classes have already sent for printing despite starting out later than us, so please cast your vote on the base colour.
We are keeping the colours minimal in order to reduce costs.
We hope to get it done before level camp, though i'm not sure of the outcome of the camp due to recent outbreaks of swine flu, let's just keep our fingers crossed XD
Anyway, please get ready about $15 on Monday to speed process up.
We will keep the costs as low as possible.
Things are not confirmed yet, and I'm trying my best to make things work out.

Geography poster themes for groups

Hi there.

In case anyone missed what i said during break today, it was regarding the themes for the geog tourism poster.

Checked with Mr Lee and he said that we were suppose to be allocated the themes, and not choose ourselves.

So yep, i'm here to help the geog rep (whom i assume will be very busy now) to get this done.

To be fair, we decided to draw lots, since its really hard to compromise with everyone's wants.

And in case you ever doubt the process of drawing lots, let me explain.

First, i wrote the representatives from the six groups names onto pieces of paper, afterwhich enclosing them by folding them up.

Then i wrote the themes from 1 to 7 and folded them up again.

Which means i could see neither the name nor the themes.
Then i drew from the pile of names first, followed by the theme.
So i did NOT decide the order the groups were drew.
I did NOT see anything throughout, except when i open the slip up of course.
Fair enough?
Should be lah, cos i didn't get the one i wanted either ._. So i really hope i won't have to hear something like 'so and so manipulated the results, blah blah blah' cos i really did all i could to make this fair and square, and transparent as well.

Below are the themes allocated:

Healthcare services: Sabrina
lifestyle & events: Clara
Tourism shopping: Wen Ting
Sight-seeing and cruise: Zi Jun
Food & beverages: Pink Ranger (aka Kimberly)

We FINALLY have a class blog after many gazillion million years of procrastination so thanks to Geraldine (The non-procrastinator) who made this skin and put up this blog! :D It's pink and it's gay so I hope y'all will be happy like a Jigglypuff whenever you come to this blog.
